The L Stops

About The L Stops

A rider-run guide to all 144 Chicago ‘L’ stations: how each one feels to use, and what’s worth walking to within 3 blocks of the platform.

How ratings work

Anyone can rate a station or a place as good, OK or bad, with or without an account. To keep things fair, each internet connection gets one rating per station or place per day, counted on Chicago time.

We show which way opinion leans rather than a score. The marker sits between bad and good according to the balance of ratings, using the last year so renovations and changes show up. We store a scrambled fingerprint of your connection to enforce the daily limit, never the address itself.

Sponsored places

Local businesses can pay to appear first on their station’s page. Those listings always carry a “Sponsored” label. Paying doesn’t change a rating and doesn’t remove reviews. Feature your business.
